All details about Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Tender announced in Jan-2021.

For the last few years, the Andhra Pradesh Green Energy Corporation LTD. has been pretty quiet in the market of government tenders. However, they have, at last, decided to move away from it and floated a premium tender for the establishment of proper solar plants. The projects will have an aggregate capacity of around 6.4 GW and will offer sustainable energy for about 30 years.
The huge solar plants will be planted at 10 different locations in Prakasam, Kurnool, Kadapa, and Anantapur district. So, if you are considering opting for one of the most valuable government tenders, then be sure to learn more about it!
Timeline of the Tender Bid
As per reports, the last date of filing a bid on the project was December 28th. It will open on January 7th to identify the SPDs who are going to own these government tenders. A reverse auction will also be presented on the same day to find out the lowest rates.
Where Will the Solar Plants be Established?
As mentioned before, the solar plants (proposed in the Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Tender) will be planted in 10 different locations in Andhra Pradesh. These are –
Chakrayapet – 600 MW
M. Kambaladinne – 600 MW
Thondur – 400 MW
CS Puram – 600 MW
Mudigubba – 600 MW
Kambadur – 1200 MW
Kolimigundla – 600 MW
Pendlimarri – 600 MW
Uruchintala – 600 MW
Rudrasamudram – 600 MW
During the first phase of the construction, almost 6,400 MW solar plant capacity will be taken up for establishment. However, the state government has a plan of doing so of around 10,000 MW. So, the latter ones will be constructed after the erection of the first 6,400 MW.
Any Special Catch
The SPDs, in essence, will have an option for developing 50% capacity over the amount, which has been offered to the bidder through the government tenders. Thus, the government will have the flexibility of putting up the next 3,600 MW on the bid as well. They might also opt for the greenshoe path.
The project will be done through the own transfer model and operation of the bid winner. Also, the agreement for purchasing power would be for the proposed 30 years. However, if the power generation exceeds over 10% of the declared annual capacity utilization factor, then APGECL will purchase it.
